Besting a Red Light Camera Ticket

January 19, 2010  /  Lifestyle

Been misbehaving in your car lately? Traffic cameras catch people running red lights every day, but you do not have to pay a fine, get points on your license, or raise your insurance rates just because you’ve been caught. The most effective way to beat a traffic ticket issued via camera is to decline a “stipulation” – in other words, declining to agree to having the video of your violation shown to the court. Without the ticketed individual agreeing to this video being shown, the police must go to greater lengths to get this evidence admitted. Without the video evidence, a court can’t give you a fine, and your insurance rates won’t go up due to reckless behavior. Watch your driving next time!
